The original long-life beekeeping protection

Built to last, with extra strong stitching, durable zips and hard-wearing fabrics. Our garments typically last around 15 years, but it’s quite common to find people still wearing Sherriff suits from the 1980s!

Get the best view of your bees

Our unique ClearView black nylon mesh has hundreds of tiny holes woven in to reduce glare. It gives you the clear vision you need when looking for eggs and varroa – even if you wear spectacles. (Plus it gives you excellent ventilation, keeping you cool too).

All-day protection and comfort

Hand cut and sewn by our expert machinists in Cornwall in the UK. With thoughtful design features to ensure you stay safe and comfortable, even when spending long periods in the apiary.

“The only bee suits worth having”

It’s what our customers tell us time and time again.

Born to keep bees

Back in the 1960s, specialist clothing makers Brian and Pat Sherriff decided to combine their love of beekeeping with their technical clothing expertise. They set about designing a pioneering ‘no hat needed’ head protection to use while working with their 400 hives. Their ClearView veil and twin-zip, throw-back hood design went on to revolutionise the world of beekeeping. More than 55 years later, BJ Sherriff, now led by Brian and Pat’s daughter, Angela, continues to remain a hive of innovation.
